Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, and Rush Oak Park Hospital, a community hospital located in the western suburbs of Chicago, and partner with Rush University Medical Center, invite applications for the position of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).

Rush is currently recruiting for several Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA) to join their team. The CRNA will function under the medical direction of the anesthesiologist with regard to pre-anesthetic, anesthetic, and post-anesthetic patient management.

We have recently revamped the pay structure for this role to be extremely competitive. Sign-on bonuses are available!

Are you a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) looking to work at one of the top academic medical centers in the country? If so, Rush University Medical Center is the place to enhance your career. Everything we do centers on one goal: improving patient care.

Position Highlights:
  • Flexible Schedule/Call: Shifts available are 8's, 10's, and 12's, and your schedule can be tailored to your specific needs. This benefit is highly beneficial and unique, facilitating your lifestyle away from the operating room. Additionally, our CRNAs are relieved on-time for their scheduled shifts and not on a "waterfall tear-off" system.
  • Call requirements: are minimal, with no in-house call requirements. You are paid to carry your pager whilst on-call, and you receive a call-rate if called in. Call-ins occur about 10% of the time.
SRNA Grant/Illinois Nurse Educator Loan Repayment Program:
  • Rush offers all SRNAs the SRNA Grant and Service Agreement. Up to one year before starting as a CRNA with Rush, students are eligible for a grant to help pay for their education.
  • Illinois Nurse Educator Loan Repayment Program: $5,000 of loan forgiveness per year up to four years total.
Benefits:
  • Rush offers competitive pay with regular reviews and performance-based raises.
  • Rush matches 50% of the employee’s contribution to their retirement savings fund, up to 6% of pay deferred into the plan.
  • 457(b) plan available to CRNAs—an additional tax-deferred savings option beyond the 403(b) limit.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, disability, flex-spending, and vision benefits. Additional benefits include maternity and disability leave with 100% salary continuation upon birth or disability.
  • $50,000 fertility benefit for fertility-related treatments.
  • Rush employers are enrolled in a pension plan after one year of service.
  • 208 hours of paid time-off annually for full-time CRNAs, plus 7 paid holidays. Part-time CRNAs receive pro-rated time-off based on FTE. All hours are available to use immediately; no accrual needed.
Education:
  • $2,000 per year for continuing medical education, plus $1,500 every three years for license and certification maintenance, and one week off annually for seminars or meetings. Rush hosts weekly grand rounds that count as free class "A" CEUs. Daily precepting of SRNAs counts as class "B" credits.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Provide anesthesia for various cases in inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Function as a faculty member and supervise SRNAs in the nurse anesthesia program.
Position Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program.
  • Current IL RN/APN license.
  • CPR and ACLS certification.
