Job summary

The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston invites applications for a General Neurology / Neurophysiology Faculty position. The successful candidate will provide adult neurology care with EEG interpretations, participate in call rotations, ward/consult services, and participate in teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows.

Board-certified or board-eligible in Neurology is required, with MD or DO degree. EEG training/experience is strongly preferred.

UniversityofTexasMedicalBranch (UTMB) – Galveston, Texas – Department of Neurology

The Department of Neurology at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) was established in 1973. It has a long-standing history and tradition in the practice and advancement of Clinical Neurosciences by providing the most comprehensive care to patients with neurologic illnesses from Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders, brain tumors, Parkinson’s Disease and other movement disorders, multiple sclerosis and other autoimmune disorders, stroke as well as other acute neurologic injuries. The department also has a robust laboratory research program that is particularly focused at advancing our knowledge of neurodegenerative disorders. In addition, UTMB has a highly regarded, fully accredited neurology residency training program.

The UTMB Department of Neurology invites applications from board-certified or board-eligible General Neurologists or a Neurophysiologist who will perform General Neurology with a focus on EEG’s. General responsibilities will include providing patient care in an adult neurology outpatient clinic to include EEG’s, participation in call rotations with other faculty in the adult are for general neurology, participation in coverage on the ward/consult service for adult care and the teaching/instruction of medical students, residents, and postdoctoral fellows.

Educational Requirements & Experience

• M.D. or D.O. degree.
• Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Neurology.
• A strong commitment to patient care, medical student, and resident education.
• Participation in research and scholarly activities.

Compensation:

Salary is commensurate with Academic rank, experience and qualifications. The position offers excellent opportunities for patient care, teaching, and program development.
