Wieland is hiring a General Mill Hand/General Labor Pool in Reading, PA, on-site. The role starts with 8 weeks of paid training on first shift at $19.50/hour, with a bonus pool after training and potential increases based on attendance at 5 and 8 months.

After progression, pay can reach up to $26.50/hour plus shift differentials. The position requires safety compliance, ability to read mill cards, operate slitting equipment, and move material through processing and shipping.

Responsabilidades

• Review the mill card to understand customer requirements.
• Assist at slitting machines to help productivity.
• Handle material from slitting to shipping (banding, skidding, weighing, identifying, returning to stock).
• Complete quality checks and enter information on the mill card.
• Comply with Heyco Quality System during processing.
• Keep the work area clean.

Wieland is hiring a General Mill Hand/ General Labor Pool / General Helper. The General Mill Hand/ General Labor Pool will be responsible for Processing products which meet or exceed customer specifications at an acceptable productivity level. With safety at the forefront, the training for this position is expected to last 8 weeks. After 8 weeks of training at either slitting line, the employee must complete High Risk Training to graduate to "A Rate" General Labor Pool and start to earn the bonus. This role is located in Reading, PA and will be fully on-site.

• Shift options: 2nd shift 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm (+$1.75/hr) or 3rd shift 11:00 pm - 7:00 am (+$1.25/hr)
• Career path: Opportunity to bid on other operator roles

Responsibilities

• Comply with all safety regulations while in the plant.
• Comply with the Wieland Heyco Quality System and work instruction documents.
• Review the mill card prior to processing and understand the customer requirements.
• Assist at the assigned slitting machines and help with productivity.
• Handle material from slitting to shipping in the following manner: Banding, Skidding, Weighing, Identifying, Returning material to stock as necessary
• Complete all quality checks and to enter the required information onto the mill card.
• Comply with the Heyco Quality System at all times during processing.
• Keep the work area clean.

General Mill Hand/ General Labor Pool- Class C Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanically and mathematically inclined.
• Able to use the computer operations.
• Able to learn how to read a micrometer.
• Frequent standing, bending, stooping, gripping
• Frequent walking.
• Some lifting and carrying short distances (40 lbs)
• Manual dexterity needed to perform activities.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to perform computations.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally.
• Assist the operator process with the customer order to completion from the mill card specifications
