MarketPlace Ltd is seeking an experienced leader to oversee the General Merchandise and Health & Beauty departments across its group of stores.

Reporting to the Vice President of Retail Operations, the successful candidate will develop and implement strategies, programs, and operational processes that drive sales growth, improve gross margins, optimize inventory management and maximize overall profitability.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years in a similar retail management role.
• Proven track record of driving sales and profitability.
• Strong financial, analytical, negotiation and inventory skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail management systems.
• Ability to supervise and handle sales transactions, invoices, margins.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.

MarketPlace Ltd is seeking an experienced, result-driven, and highly motivated leader to oversee the General Merchandise and Health & Beauty (GM & HABA) departments across its group of stores.

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Retail Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies, programs, and operational processes that drive sales growth, improve gross margins, optimize inventory management and maximize overall profitability. This role requires a strong commercial mindset, proven leadership capabilities and the ability to deliver consistent financial and operational results across multiple retail locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage departmental P&L performance, budgets and financial targets.


• Develop and implement sales, pricing, purchasing and merchandising strategies.


• Oversee inventory control, stock allocation and cost management.


• Lead, coach and motivate teams to achieve business objectives.


• Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for growth and improved profitability.


• Collaborate with senior management on departmental strategy and annual goals.

• Possess the accounting and math skills necessary to supervise and handle sales transactions, verify invoices, calculate gross margins, percentages, and ad losses, create operating budgets, and make financial projections.


• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including lifting up to 50lbs
