Job summary

Target in Pittsburgh is seeking a General Merchandise Expert to help guests, stock shelves, and keep the sales floor inviting. You will greet guests, assist with finding products, and support daily tasks from receiving shipments to updating signs.

This role requires a welcoming attitude, the ability to work with handheld scanners, and the stamina to keep up in a fast, busy store. Training is provided, and there is emphasis on safety, teamwork, and reliability.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and guest-first culture.
• Retail business fundamentals including department sales trends, inventory replenishment, and process efficiency and improvement.
• Experience executing daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver on sales goals.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete daily tasks.
• When guests need assistance, engage with guests in a welcoming way to help solve their specific needs.
• Thank guests and let them know we’re happy they chose to shop at Target.
• Execute daily tasks assigned to you by your leader to help achieve goals that align with business priorities including receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, arranging merchandise, and putting up promotional signs for GM areas.
• If certified operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures.
• Execute processes including changing prices to products, merchandise set-up and maintenance, and inventory accuracy as directed by your leader for all areas.
• Learn how operational procedures affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.
• Be knowledgeable about the resources, products, and services available in the total store, and specific to your area, to solve issues for the guest and improve their experience.
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
• Work safely; comply with safety policies, training; report hazards and correct where possible.
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment processes and maintain compliance with laws.
