Job summary

Target is seeking a General Merchandise Expert to support a welcoming guest experience on the sales floor. You will help with stocking, pricing, backroom organization and promotional signage while delivering practical guest assistance in a fast-paced retail setting.

You should be comfortable using handheld scanners, handling cash, and collaborating with teammates to meet daily goals. Training provided; opportunities for skill development are offered.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you are completing your daily tasks.
• When guests need assistance, engage with guests in a welcoming way to help solve their needs.
• Thank guests and let them know we’re happy they chose to shop at Target.
• Execute daily tasks assigned to you by your leader to help achieve goals that align with business priorities including receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, arranging merchandise, and putting up promotional signs for GM areas.
• Operate power equipment if certified to move merchandise or store fixtures.
• Update pricing, merchandise setup, and inventory accuracy as directed by leadership.
• Learn how procedures affect inventory, store profitability, and product availability.
• Be knowledgeable about the resources, products, and services available in the total store.
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
• Work safely; follow safety policies and report hazards.
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment and comply with alcohol laws where applicable.
• All other duties based on business needs
