Job summary

DirectShifts is seeking a General Medicine physician to perform VA Compensation & Pension disability exams, review medical records, and complete DBQs. The role requires no ongoing patient management or prescribing, focusing on evaluation and documentation.

Candidates should be board certified/eligible in General Medicine, hold an active MD or DO license, and demonstrate strong clinical assessment and precise documentation skills. Flexible full-time, part-time, or PRN schedules offered.

Qualifications

• Board Certified/Board Eligible General Medicine Physician (MD/DO)
• Active, unrestricted MD, DO license
• Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
• Experience with disability evaluations preferred (occupational, family, internal, emergency, or primary care)

Responsibilities

• Perform VA Compensation & Pension (C&P) disability examinations.
• Review Veterans' medical records and relevant documentation before each evaluation.
• Conduct comprehensive General Medicine examinations.
• Accurately complete Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) and required reports.
• Document findings clearly, objectively, and within established timelines.
• Maintain compliance with VA guidelines, HIPAA, and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure timely completion of evaluations.
