Job summary
Graphic Packaging International is seeking a General Mechanic New Hire (Millwright) to improve overall reliability and reduce unscheduled downtime in our mill. You will analyze rotating process equipment health and proactively identify issues, supporting precision practices and training initiatives.
The role requires a strong mechanical background, multi-craft maintenance experience, and willingness to travel.
Qualifications
- Five (5) years of experience in mechanical maintenance, multi-craft maintenance preferred.
- Specific knowledge in hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, vibration analysis and basic electrical repair.
- Prior millwright positions preferred.
- Training and certification in welding, vibration analysis, electrical/mechanical, bearing training, conveyors, pumps, fans, screening equipment preferred.
Responsibilities
- Analyze rotating machines and monitor health to reduce downtime.
- Conduct detailed diagnosis of common machinery faults.
- Support QA/QC during installation and repair of equipment.
- Collaborate with peers and leaders to align procedures with Precision Practices.
- Assist in equipment specification meetings and develop new training practices.
- Mentor new mechanic hires and participate in onboarding and assimilation.
