Job summary

McKee Foods Corporation in Gentry, Arkansas, is seeking a maintenance technician for Plant 3. The role performs general and preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems to ensure safe, reliable operation.

You will observe equipment, dismantle parts, install components, and respond to service calls, while following GMPs and food safety standards. Weekend shift availability and licenses are required.

Qualifications

  • Must have or be able to obtain an LTO license and a valid driver's license.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a State of Arkansas Boiler Operator License.
  • Experience servicing and maintaining industrial mobile equipment (forklifts, scissor lifts, walk-behind lifts).
  • Strong commitment to company values, ethics, goals, and objectives.
  • Demonstrated industrial mechanical competence, aptitude, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and computer skills.
  • Excellent safety, attendance, and overall work record.
  • Ability to work well with minimal supervision; highly self-motivated with a high degree of initiative.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, extended shifts, and attend off-shift team meetings.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to work well with internal and external personnel.
  • Adaptable to change and willing to cross-train in other areas and departments.
  • Willingness to perform Fire Suppression Systems maintenance, minor plumbing tasks, and assist maintenance specialists.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to company food safety, product purity procedures, and GMPs

Responsibilities

  • Performs general and preventive maintenance in specific areas of responsibility.

  • Dismantles devices to remove defective parts.
  • Examines parts to detect imperfections and determine changes in dimensional requirements.
  • Adjusts, repairs, or replaces defective parts and control instruments.
  • Installs special functional and structural parts.
  • Performs basic electrical repairs.
  • Designs and fabricates parts and equipment as needed.
  • Researches prints, manuals, and other resources for repair or operational information.
  • Lubricates and cleans parts; starts devices to test performance.
  • Sets up and operates drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools.
  • Writes work orders, purchase requests, and preventive maintenance requests.
  • Maintains familiarity with all department equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Responds to service calls in a timely manner.
  • Operates and maintains company service vehicles, tools, and service equipment.
  • Demonstrates workplace behavior consistent with company policies and values.
  • Communicates job information effectively to accomplish tasks.
  • Maintains good attendance and personal hygiene; keeps a clean work area.
  • Exercises personal safety on the job and ensures the safety of others and products.

Pay

$27.63 - $33.76 / hour, depending on experience and qualifications
Plus shift premium for weekend shift hours
