Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking an Onsite Assembly Technician in Largo, FL to perform assembly and disassembly operations on cables, mechanical and electronic subassemblies for DoD-grade products. The role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance, and candidates must be U.S.

citizens. You'll use hand tools, jigs, fixtures, and follow instruction sheets and drawings, ensuring workmanship meets quality standards while supporting a Monday–Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM schedule.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or equivalent (US GED) required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance required. U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and disassemble cables, mechanical, electronic, and hi-res subassemblies per instructions, drawings, and schematics.
  • Use jigs, fixtures, soldering irons, and hand/power tools to assemble products.
  • Receive and move materials to lines; verify workmanship and quality per standards.
  • Collect data and maintain records; handle hazardous waste materials as needed.

1st Shift Schedule

Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

What You Will Do
  • Perform all assembly and disassembly operations to modify, repair, rework, retrofit, upgrade and assemble cables, mechanical, electronic, microelectronic and hi-res assemblies and subassemblies from operation instruction sheets, blue prints, process sheets, samples, assembly drawing, wiring diagrams and schematics in the manufacture of new and customer returned products.
  • Use jigs, fixtures, soldering irons and other hand and power tools, operate departmental machines and equipment as required.
  • Receive and dispense to the lines, material, subassemblies and/or assemblies. Move material as directed.
  • Verified workmanship and product quality standards as they relate to specific assembly operations.
  • Collect data, prepare/maintain records using either written or electronic media, as required.
  • Will also be involved in storing, handling, use and disposal of hazardous waste chemicals.
  • Must be capable of lifting and/or handling heavy parts, material, or equipment up to 28 lbs.
  • May be required to satisfactorily complete one or more training courses.
  • Employees may be required to obtain the appropriate government security clearance.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent. G.E.D. in the US)
