Job summary

Metric DCX is seeking a General Manager for its Transmission & Distribution division, a senior leadership role overseeing operations, P&L, growth strategy, client relationships, and team development across a growing utility-focused business.

This position partners with the Division VP to drive growth and operational performance, lead bidding, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, QA/QC, and maintain safety and regulatory compliance for major utility programs.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of construction experience.
• 10+ years in senior T&D leadership and relevant utility-scale projects.
• Deep understanding of utility standards, safety requirements, and construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead bidding, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and QA/QC.
• Oversee high-voltage transmission, distribution and substation projects.
• Develop and maintain relationships with utilities, private clients, OEMs and partners.
• Build and lead estimating, project management, engineering and field teams.
• Drive operational efficiency, accountability and continuous improvement.

I’m currently partnered with a nationally recognized electrical contractor on a senior leadership opportunity within their Transmission & Distribution division.

This is a key leadership position for an experienced T&D professional looking to take ownership of operations, P&L, growth strategy, client relationships, and team development across a growing utility-focused business.

Focus: Transmission | Distribution | Substations | High Voltage Infrastructure

The Opportunity

The General Manager will work closely with the Division VP to develop and execute the division’s growth strategy while overseeing operational performance across major utility and infrastructure programs.

Key areas of responsibility include:

• Leading bidding, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning & QA/QC
• Overseeing high-voltage transmission, distribution and substation projects
• Developing and maintaining relationships with utilities, private clients, OEMs and industry partners
• Building and leading high-performing estimating, project management, engineering and field teams
• Driving operational efficiency, accountability and continuous improvement
• Supporting major utility programs and long-term capital plans
• Ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance and project delivery

What They're Looking For

• Strong utility-scale transmission, distribution and substation experience
• Established utility and industry relationships
• Deep understanding of utility standards, safety requirements and construction practices
