We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to support major Transmission and Distribution (T&D) projects. This individual will be responsible for coordinating the planning, development, and successful execution of complex, multidisciplinary utility projects.
The Senior Project Manager will oversee key project elements including safety, scope, budget, schedule, cash flow, quality, and risk, ensuring project objectives and deliverables are completed on schedule and within established cost parameters. This position operates with a high level of independence and requires minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the development of comprehensive project plans, including project scope, cost estimates, schedules, and cash flow requirements.
- Ensure project planning appropriately addresses safety, environmental considerations, land use, regulatory requirements, staffing, communications, procurement, reliability, quality, and project risk.
- Lead and coordinate execution of approved project plans from initiation through completion.
- Coordinate the acquisition and availability of necessary resources, including personnel, equipment, permits, property, and land rights.
- Monitor and manage project performance across safety, scope, cost, schedule, cash flow, quality, and risk.
- Track project progress and effectively communicate performance, milestones, issues, and other relevant information to customers and key stakeholders.
- Manage changes to approved project plans while ensuring overall project objectives continue to be achieved.
- Partner with customers and stakeholders to identify, develop, and evaluate potential project alternatives.
- Coordinate and support multidisciplinary project teams consisting of stakeholders and representatives from various functional groups.
- Work closely with teams that may include transmission planning, distribution planning, civil engineering, substation engineering, transmission engineering, project controls, line construction and maintenance, substation construction and maintenance, system protection, telecommunications, meter services, construction administration, distribution design, system operations, land resources, environmental services, procurement, government affairs, major accounts, economic development, and legal.
- Support the development, approval, and administration of the business unit's 10-year capital investment plan.
- Coordinate the negotiation, execution, and administration of agreements involving customers, vendors, service providers, contractors, and other external resources.
- Manage project closeout activities, including final acceptance of project deliverables, transfer of ownership, project ID status, project accounting audits and true-ups, and completion of final project reporting.
- Maintain awareness of all compliance requirements associated with the position and ensure adherence to applicable company policies, procedures, codes, regulations, and standards.
- Perform additional related responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- 7+ years of related utility design and/or utility industry experience.
- 2+ years of project management experience.
- Experience managing Large Generator Interconnection projects is considered a plus.
