Job summary

Worldwide Equipment Sales (WWE), part of Pritchard Companies, is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our Rockdale, Illinois operation.

This hands-on leadership role emphasizes ownership, team development, customer relationships, and balancing day-to-day execution with long-term growth. The GM will oversee sales, customer experience, employees, operations, and financial performance, being visible, accountable, and ready to jump in where needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive management or operational leadership experience.
• Experience leading employees, setting expectations, and managing performance.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proven ability to prioritize, solve problems, and follow through.
• Strong business judgment and results-oriented mindset.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn business systems.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Rockdale location’s day-to-day operation.
• Establish location goals, priorities, and performance expectations.
• Maintain a visible, hands-on presence throughout the business.
• Identify operational challenges and take action to improve processes, service, and efficiency.
• Ensure teams understand business priorities and expectations.
• Develop sales goals, forecasts, and strategies to support business growth.
• Review sales activity and actively pursue new business opportunities.
• Participate directly in the sales process when needed.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and business partners.
• Support vehicle and equipment sales and trade-in evaluations as appropriate.
• Lead, coach, motivate, and develop managers and employees.
• Establish clear expectations and reinforce accountability.
• Provide timely coaching, feedback, and recognition.
• Partner with People Operations on recruiting, onboarding, employee development, and performance management.
• Create a positive, professional, and results-driven work environment.
• Monitor operating results, expenses, resources, and overall profitability.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen business performance.
• Review and approve location-level transactions within established authority.
• Balance customer needs, operational priorities, and business results.
• Take ownership of issues and drive them through resolution.
• Ensure the location operates in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
• Promote safe and ethical business practices.
• Drive continuous improvement in customer experience, teamwork, communication, and operational execution.
