Delta Air Lines, Inc. is seeking a senior leader to head engine maintenance operations. You will be responsible for achieving strategic and operational results, developing staff, and overseeing budgets, inventory, master scheduling, capacity modeling and the engine P&L.

The role requires collaboration with Finance, MRO Services, Supplier Operations, DMS and Engineering to drive material strategies, shop capacity, and long-term capacity planning in a safety-conscious environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engine maintenance operations to meet Delta's strategic and operating targets.
  • Develop vision and strategies for the Materials Strategy team (EMSTRAT) with suppliers.
  • Develop vision and strategies for the Master Scheduling team to monitor shop and system health.
  • Partner with Supply Chain on commercial strategies that leverage material contracts.
  • Develop an annual business plan with shop visit schedules, budgets and operating costs.
  • Oversee detailed forecasts and plans to maximize engine maintenance resource utilization.
  • Ensure efficient, safe and compliant engine operation and continuous improvement.
  • Lead, plan, organize, and direct operational resources for engine maintenance.

Job description

Technical Operations is seeking an individual to lead engine maintenance operations. This position requires a high level of accountability for achieving strategic and operational results. This person will provide leadership and development of staff on key areas such as budget, inventory optimization, material strategy, Master Scheduling, capacity modeling and long-term capacity planning, engine Supplier Operations, engine demand planning and oversight of the internally maintained engine P&L. In addition, they should have the ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization. Will also have to:

  • Demonstrate leadership experience in managing complex processes within cross functional teams. Requires daily interaction with other TechOps business units to include; Finance, MRO Services, Supplier Operations, DMS, and Engineering.
  • Develop vision and strategies for the Materials Strategy team (EMSTRAT), working with suppliers to ensure parts will be available to the execution teams when needed. Manage inventory balance and optimize inventory turns to support Delta and Customer shop visits. Partner with Supply Chain to develop commercial strategies that align with our material needs and drive teams to fully leverage our material contracts.
  • Develop vision and strategies for the Master Scheduling team to actively monitor and manage shop level and system level health, both near and long term.Manage shop capacity and work with engine maintenance peers to develop long term capacity and growth strategies that will meet Delta and MRO engine maintenance needs.
  • Develop vision and strategies for the engine Supplier Operations team in the approach and management of supplier managed fleets (GTF, Trent, BR715, PW4168, CF6-80E, APS2100, 131-9C, 331-350, 331-400, HGT1700).Partner with Supply Chain on commercial strategies that fully leverage our contracts.
  • Develop an annual business plan which includes establishing Shop Visit schedule, WIP levels, TAT goals, inventory levels, budget objectives, and planned operating costs.
  • Oversees the developed detailed forecasts, scenarios and plans in order to maximize utilization of available Engine Maintenance resources. Seeks and implements opportunities to improve quality, efficiency and competitiveness of products and services utilizing continuous improvement methodologies and measures.
  • Ensure efficient, safe and compliant engine operation; Seeks and implements opportunities to improve quality, efficiency and competitiveness of products and services
  • Lead, plan, organize, direct and control operational resources for engine maintenance
  • Develops highly effective cross-divisional relationships
