Metazoa Brewing Co. is seeking a hospitality-focused General Manager to deliver an exceptional guest experience, lead an accountable team, and own the taproom’s financial performance.
You’ll bring the warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail associated with the highest-caliber establishments to our relaxed brewery setting. Every guest should have fun and feel welcome in our taproom—every shift, every day. This role hasdirect ownership of the taproom’s profit and loss (P&L),including revenue, labor, cost of goods, operating expenses, and profitability against approved budgets and goals.
Key Objectives
- Define and lead the guest experience:Be a positive representation of the brand at all times, anticipate guest needs, maintain a respectful and fun taproom environment, resolve concerns calmly and graciously, and maintain consistently attentive service.
- Build and lead a strong team:Hire, train, schedule, and coach staff. Set clear expectations for professionalism, respectful guest interactions, reliability, and performance, and address issues promptly.
- Own financial results:Partner with leadership on budgets and forecasts, review P&L results, explain variances, and take action to meet sales and profitability goals while protecting service quality.
- Run excellent daily operations:Oversee staffing, inventory, purchasing, cash controls, payroll submissions, cleanliness, safety, and responsible alcohol service. Meticulous organization and attention to detail is critical for success.
- Support profitable growth:Partner with other departments to deliver seamless taproom events, encourage repeat visits, and grow taproom sales.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience in hospitality, including staff development and daily operational responsibility.
- Experience in an upscale hotel, resort, country club, private club, fine-dining restaurant, or comparable establishment strongly preferred.
- A demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service, with the composure and judgment to lead effectively under pressure and passion for animals and philanthropy --- must love dogs.
- Ability to read a P&L, manage budgets, and make informed operating decisions. Prior P&L ownership or responsibility for departmental financial performance strongly preferred.
- Strong organization, follow-through, and familiarity with POS systems, inventory, and labor management.
