Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a seasoned supervisor to direct and train production supervisors on the plant floor. You will manage documentation, safety, yields, attendance, and team motivation, while upholding quality and compliance standards.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in supervision, familiarity with HACCP/CCP, and some experience with fresh meats processing. Tyson values safety, teamwork, and operational excellence on site in the production facility.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in a supervisory role; Tyson experience preferred.
  • HACCP knowledge and CCP monitoring verification a plus.
  • Familiarity with fresh meats processing is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and train supervisors across production, paperwork, yields, time and attendance, safety, and motivation.
  • Ensure safety, quality, workers' compensation, and turnover metrics are met.
  • Oversee production documentation, CCP verification schedules, and team morale.
  • Review and improve department production schedules and processes.
  • Travel as required and perform additional duties as needed.

Job Details: SUMMARY

This position is responsible for directing and training supervisors in all facets including but not limited to production, paperwork, yields, time and attendance, discipline, motivation, turnover, absenteeism, safety problem solving etc. Accountable for areas of performance, safety, quality, workers compensation, turnover, bid movement, Team Member morale and other duties as needed. Oversee and train supervisors in various areas, including:

  • Production documentation
  • Yield management
  • Time and attendance tracking
  • Disciplinary procedures
  • Motivation strategies
  • Turnover reduction
  • Absenteeism management
  • Safety protocols
  • Problem-solving initiatives

Be accountable for performance in key areas, such as:

  • Safety
  • Quality
  • Workers' compensation
  • Turnover rates
  • Bid movement
  • Team Member morale

Undertake additional duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: 3 plus years’ experience in a supervisory role. Two years employment at Tyson or equivalent experience preferred. Familiarity with processing floor operation is a plus; HACCP certification a plus understanding of basic HACCP principals and the ability to perform CCP monitoring verification; knowledge of fresh meats processing a plus.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to access all areas of the production floor to conduct audits and inspections; fixed ladders stairs steps etc. able to tolerate environmental conditions in the area of responsibility; the temperature in most of the areas range from 28 - 45 degrees.

Computer Skills

Basic computer skills.

Communication Skills

Good written and verbal communication skills. Able to communicate with all levels of management.

Special Skills

Team leader problem solving and motivation to take on special projects.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Responsible for all Production Operations at the facility; includes managing all production supervisor’s department production schedules product rotation CCP verification schedules and overseeing safety committee; includes responsibility to review team members in these roles and develop improve deficient areas.

Travel

Some travel required as needed.
