Job summary

OMAKAI is seeking a General Manager in Chicago to lead a high-volume sushi operation with a five-star hotel mentality. You will drive guest experience, manage the full staff, and ensure training, safety, and sanitation standards are maintained across every shift.

The role requires at least five years in restaurant leadership, including two years as GM or AGM. A strong focus on accountability, reliability, and service excellence is essential for success in this team-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Five years of restaurant experience required, including at least two years running a restaurant as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager.
• Experience leading a full management team and owning results against targets.
• Certifications: manager, alcohol service, and sexual harassment prevention (training may be provided).

Responsibilities

• Lead and hold all restaurant staff accountable, including the AGM and Floor Managers.
• Monitor front-of-house operations and ensure smooth service across shifts.
• Own training standards, onboard and develop staff, and drive KPI performance.
• Oversee inventory, safety protocols, sanitation, and compliance with company policies.
