Job summary

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in precision sheet metal fabrication with practical machining knowledge.
  • 5-10 years of management experience in manufacturing or engineering.
  • Graduate of a technical high school with a metal trades focus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management strongly preferred.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on General Manager to lead daily operations in a fast-paced, precision manufacturing environment. This role requires a strong technical background in precision sheet metal fabrication, working knowledge of precision machining, and proven leadership experience. The General Manager will oversee production, drive process improvements, support customer relationships, and ensure company-wide operational excellence. This position reports directly to the President and Vice President.

Required Experience & Education
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in precision sheet metal fabrication, with practical knowledge of precision machining.
  • 5-10 years of management experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Graduate of a technical high school with a focus on metal trades.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management strongly preferred.
Core Competencies
  • Demonstrated team-oriented leadership skills, with the ability to develop, coach, and motivate employees.
  • Strong expertise in process development, optimization, and continuous improvement.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems; Epicor experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage and support IT systems and technology related to manufacturing operations.
  • Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations, workplace safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong customer-service orientation with a focus on building and maintaining positive customer relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft business applications, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to analyze ERP data and translate findings into clear, actionable Excel-based reports.
  • Strong knowledge of technical drawings, sheet metal fabrication processes, and machining methods.
  • Solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 quality management standards.
  • Experience supporting and participating in ISO and customer audits.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Lead and oversee daily manufacturing operations with a strong focus on productivity, quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues quickly and effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, improve workflows, and enhance overall operational performance.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships while consistently delivering a high level of service.
  • Support strategic initiatives established by senior leadership and provide timely, clear, and actionable operational feedback.
