About Kalamazoo Country Club

The Kalamazoo Country Club is a beautiful, year-round resort located in Kalamazoo, offering a variety of activities and events for members of all ages. The club features scenic landscapes, golf, swimming, racquet sports, and indoor and outdoor family activities. A major transformation is underway, including a new clubhouse and extensive amenities, set to be completed by Fall 2025, with further enhancements planned for the golf courses.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing

The General Manager reports to the CEO of Greenleaf Hospitality Group and oversees all club operations, including golf, F&B, fitness, racquet sports, and social events. You will lead strategic planning, financial management, member relations, staff development, and operational excellence, ensuring the club's growth, reputation, and member satisfaction.

• Set strategic vision and lead the team to achieve goals aligned with the club's mission.
• Enhance member experience and engagement through innovative initiatives.
• Manage budgets, financial planning, and reporting to ensure fiscal health.
• Prioritize strategic initiatives based on industry trends and member needs.
• Foster strong relationships with members and staff, promoting a positive community environment.
• Recruit, train, and motivate a high-performing team.
• Incorporate innovative solutions and adapt to changing trends.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and members.
• Balance multiple priorities with excellent time management.
• Represent the club's values and culture externally and internally.
• Oversee capital projects, working closely with contractors and designers, managing budgets and timelines.

Qualifications

What You Need for this Position

• 4-6 years of experience in private club or golf industry management; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Strong leadership, financial, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with members and staff.
• Strategic thinker with a proactive attitude.
• High energy and adaptability to change.
• Passion for continuous learning.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 40 pounds, and work safely with chemicals and equipment.
• Membership in CMAA, GCSSA, or PGA/LPGA preferred.
