About Kalamazoo Country Club

The Kalamazoo Country Club is a beautiful, serene year-round resort located in Kalamazoo, offering a variety of social, recreational, and family activities throughout the year, set against a historic landscape that makes it a unique destination in Southwest Michigan.

The club is undergoing a major transformation, including a new clubhouse and extensive amenities such as pools, racquet sports, golf facilities, and more, with completion expected by Fall 2025.

Role Overview

The General Manager reports to the CEO of Greenleaf Hospitality Group and oversees all club operations, including golf, food and beverage, fitness, racquet sports, and social activities. The role involves strategic planning, financial management, member relations, staff leadership, and project oversight to ensure the club’s continued success and growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic leadership and operational excellence to enhance member experience and club reputation.
  • Financial oversight including budgeting, financial planning, and reporting.
  • Member engagement and relationship management.
  • Staff recruitment, development, and motivation.
  • Innovation, adaptability, and effective communication.
  • Overseeing capital projects, working with contractors and designers to realize the club’s vision.
Minimum Requirements
  • 4-6 years of experience in golf industry or private club management (degree preferred but not required).
  • Strong leadership, financial, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire teams, manage budgets, and foster positive member relationships.
  • Physical ability to perform role-specific tasks and handle chemicals and equipment safely.
  • Membership in CMAA, GCSSA, or PGA/LPGA preferred.
