Job summary

The Aperture, Convene Hospitality Group’s immersive experiential event destination, opens in Spring 2027 in New York’s Flatiron district. The venue spans 26,000 square feet and hosts brand activations, fashion events, and large gatherings.

You will lead multi-department operations, drive revenue and guest satisfaction, and report to the Area Director of Operations. As General Manager, you’ll oversee Front of House, Event Operations, Beverage, AV, and Sales, partnering with third‑party caterers

Qualifications

• 5+ years of senior leadership experience in event venue management, hospitality, or a related field.
• Proven experience managing third-party catering partners while ensuring alignment with venue operations, client expectations, and high standards for quality and service.
• Proven track record of achieving financial targets and driving revenue growth.
• Strong operational expertise in event logistics, beverage programs, and technical production.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
• Proficiency with budgeting, financial reporting, and KPI analysis.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays to support event operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide vision, direction, and day-to-day leadership for all venue departments.
• Oversee department heads and events teams, including catering, AV, and production.
• Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability.
• Recruit, train, mentor, and develop team members to achieve goals.
• Ensure guest-ready venues delivering world-class experiences for each event.
• Oversee event logistics, setups, beverage program execution, AV production, and vendor coordination.
• Collaborate with Catering Partners to meet client vision and CHG standards.
• Monitor and improve operational workflows for efficiency and quality.
• Develop, manage, and achieve the venue’s annual budget and KPIs.
• Negotiate contracts and optimize costs without compromising quality.
• Drive strategies to increase revenue opportunities and profitability.
• Serve as senior point of contact for clients and partners; support sales and production teams.
• Identify growth opportunities and implement best practices.
