Are you ready to steer the ship at one of the fastest-growing environmental services companies in North America? GFL Environmental is looking for a high-energy, strategic, and hands-on General Manager II to lead our top-tier team and multi-million-dollar facility operations in Chesapeake, VA.

What You’ll Be Doing (The Big Picture)

• Lead & Inspire: Coach, mentor, and empower a dynamic team across operations, sales, customer service, and maintenance.
• Drive Operations & Profitability: Oversee a $20M+ revenue operation, reviewing monthly P&ls, optimizing compaction and roll-off routes, and introducing smart cost-control strategies.
• Champion Safety: Lead our safety and accident prevention programs to make sure every single employee goes home safely every day.
• Be the Face of GFL: Build relationships across the Chesapeake community, partner with sales teams to unlock new market growth, and lead contract negotiations.
• Optimize Everything: Utilize cutting-edge routing and dispatch technology (RouteSmart, Full Route Roll-Off Dispatch) to deliver peak efficiency.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: 5+ years in the waste industry (or an equivalent blend of operational leadership and general management experience).
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on leadership track record).
• Leadership Skills: A rock-solid leader with fantastic communication skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• Tech & Business Savvy: Strong financial acumen (EBITDA, ROA, profit planning) paired with a comfort using operations and routing software.
• Local Presence: Comfortable working in an office setup 80% of the time, with occasional hands-on outdoor field visits and local travel.
