Job summary

Hotel Equities seeks a dynamic General Manager to lead Ohia Waikiki Studio Suites through a major renovation and brand repositioning planned for 2027. The role demands ownership of operations, finance, sales, and guest satisfaction in a high-profile market.

3+ years in hotel leadership with top-brand experience and strong P&L skills are required, plus proficiency in OPERA and a preference for Japanese language. Hawaii market experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hotel leadership experience.
• Impeccable results with Marriott/Hyatt/IHG/Hilton or similar brands.
• Strong financial acumen including P&L review, budget creation, and cost controls.
• Strong hotel Revenue Management, digital/e-commerce and commercial strategy experience.
• Working knowledge of OPERA/Opera Cloud or comparable PMS system.

Responsibilities

• Ensure implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives to meet guest expectations and drive profit.
• Hold property leadership accountable for strategy execution.

The 251-room Ohia Waikiki Studio Suites is entering an exciting new chapter, with a major renovation underway and a full rebranding and repositioning planned for 2027. We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on General Manager - Hotel Renovation & Rebranding at Ohia Waikiki Studio Suites to lead the hotel through this transformation and position the property for long-term success.

Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is searching for a remarkable leader to join our team in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi.

Your Expertise Shapes Us

The General Manager is the primary strategic business leader of the property with responsibility for all aspects of the operations, including guest and employee satisfaction, human resources, financial performance, sales, and revenue generation. Other responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

• Ensuring implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives with the objective of meeting or exceeding guest expectations and increasing profit and market share.
• Holding the property leadership team accountable for strategy execution.
• Guiding professional development of the property leadership team and all team members.
• Ensuring sales engines are leveraged.
• Building owner loyalty through proactive communication, setting and managing expectations, and delivering solid business results.
• Being active in the local community to build strong relationships with local officials, businesses, and customers.

You Are

• A highly experienced General Manager with 3+ years of hotel leadership..
• Impeccable results in a Marriott, Hyatt, IHG, Hilton, or similar brand.
• Strong financial acumen including P&L review, Budget creation, and cost controls. Ability to develop leaders into these skills.
• Strong hotel Revenue Management, digital/e-commerce and commercial strategy experience.
• Working knowledge of OPERA/Opera Cloud or comparable PMS system

• Well organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
• Display initiative, perseverance, and analytical skills.
• Able to deliver exceptional guest service and employee satisfaction.
• Team player, professional, and lead with integrity
• Ability to read, write and speak English, with excellent grammar and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to Speak Japanese- Highly preferred
• Strong Hawai'i/Waikiki market experience ideal
