General Manager | Full-Time | UPMC Events Center

Overview

Oak View Group is the global leader in venue development, management, and premium hospitality services for the live event industry. The General Manager oversees the efficient, professional, and profitable operation of the venue, managing daily business activities and developing new revenue sources. Responsibilities include management of construction, purchasing, booking, marketing, finance, food and beverage, security, and maintenance, as well as event strategy and execution.

Compensation and Benefits

This role offers an annual salary of $90,000-$100,000 and is bonus eligible. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with matching, and paid time off (vacation, sick days, holidays).

Location and Venue

Located in Moon, Pennsylvania, part of Robert Morris University, the UPMC Events Center hosts basketball, volleyball, concerts, and family shows.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Book and coordinate events, develop relationships with promoters and agents.
  2. Manage administrative plans covering HR, sales, marketing, safety, and crisis procedures.
  3. Generate financial and operational reports.
  4. Prepare and manage the annual operating budget.
  5. Oversee daily operations, staff, and resources for events.
  6. Ensure legal and contractual compliance.
  7. Attend industry conferences and meetings.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, or related field.
  • Minimum five years management experience in similar venues.
  • Strong leadership, event planning, and sales skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, budget management, and facility operations.
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, POS, and other systems.
