Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a General Manager for Beverage Packaging Systems in Smyrna, Georgia. This role oversees NA machinery operations, service, and spare parts, driving profitability and customer satisfaction across the BPSA facility.

You will lead cross-functional teams, manage budgets and capital projects, ensure safety and quality, and align resources with the company’s innovation framework while supporting global customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar technical field.
• 15+ years of management and leadership experience in a manufacturing facility.
• Strong technical background in high-speed machinery.
• Proven experience in budget and financial management.
• Strong track record of goal setting and leading diverse teams through change.
• Capital management knowledge (P&L and capital budgets) and financial data analysis.
• Excellent strategic planning and analytical skills.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Ability to travel up to 20% (domestic and international).

Responsibilities

• Lead North America Machinery Operations and Service, overseeing engineering, procurement, assembly, testing, quality, safety, project management, field service, spare parts operations and customer support.
• Oversee Spare Parts organization, inventory management for multi-million dollar value.
• Ensure on-time, within-budget delivery of packaging machines to global customers.
• Align resources to the company’s innovation framework for optimized packaging systems.
• Provide safety leadership and ensure compliance with local safety regulations at point of commercialization.
• Engage with customers to support technical sales activities and FAT/SAT tests.
• Drive global capacity and profitability through P&L responsibility and leadership of employees and partners.
