Job summary

B.HOM Student Living in Starkville, MS seeks a General Manager to oversee operations and financial performance for the assigned community. You will manage staffing, leasing, marketing, maintenance, and resident experience, driving NOI and leading a high-performing team.

Responsibilities include hiring and developing staff, coordinating unit turns, guiding leasing strategies, and building campus partnerships. This onsite role requires strong leadership and a focus on resident satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer systems.
  • Understanding of student housing operations and campus environments.
  • Ability to obtain any required state leasing license within required timeframe.

  • Monitor resident accounts for accuracy, collections, and timeliness.
  • Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and company policies.
  • Identify opportunities for operational and financial improvements.
  • Develop partnerships with universities and local organizations.
  • Lead outreach marketing initiatives in the surrounding community.
  • Represent B.HOM professionally with residents, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the community

Position Summary

The General Manager has full responsibility for the overall operations and financial performance of the assigned community. This includes oversight of staffing, leasing, marketing, maintenance, financial management, and resident experience. This role is accountable for delivering strong operational results, driving NOI, and leading a high-performing team.

What You’ll Do
Leadership & Team Development

Work Schedule

Primarily Monday-Friday
Extended hours, evenings, and weekends required based on business needs

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to move throughout the property and conduct inspections
  • Frequent use of a computer and office equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, phone, and written formats
  • Occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to travel locally and occasionally overnight as needed
