Role Overview

SodexoMagic is the joint venture partnership between NBA Hall of Famer, Earvin “Magic” Johnson, and Sodexo. This strategic alliance enables us to deliver creative solutions to our clients along with our local partners throughout the communities we serve. For almost 20 years, we have provided top-level food, facilities management, and integrated services to corporations, healthcare facilities, K-12 schools, colleges, universities, and aviation lounges.

Sodexo is seeking a highly experienced and strategic General Manager for our client in Chicago, Illinois. This General Manager will oversee food service and catering operations, responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring consistency in service quality, and fostering innovation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate food service operations, financial acumen, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences with a focus on user experience, efficiency, and hospitality.

This location is open for breakfast and lunch, Monday – Friday, and provides catering services five days a week, including evening events. The position requires overnight travel to Detroit once per quarter.

What You'll Do

• Oversee and innovate the café, catering, and food delivery services
• Track and maintain Sodexo systems, financial outcomes, and client satisfaction
• Innovate retail offerings, marketing plans, and sustainable catering practices
• Develop and maintain high-level client and customer relationships

What You Bring

• Exceptional leadership, communication, presentation, negotiation, and client relations skills, with the ability to work both horizontally and vertically within the organization
• Strong focus on maintaining positive client relations; perceptive leadership with attention to detail, quality, and presentation of food and customer service
• Strong financial acumen, including experience in writing and managing budgets
• Service-oriented mindset, providing excellent customer service in a welcoming dining environment
• Experience in Food and Beverage or catering, including executive dining, with a deep understanding of catering delivery aspects
