Role Overview

SodexoMagic is a joint venture between NBA Hall of Famer Earvin “Magic” Johnson and Sodexo, delivering creative solutions across communities for nearly 20 years. We provide top-tier food, facilities management, and integrated services to various sectors including corporate, healthcare, education, and aviation lounges.

We are seeking a strategic and experienced General Manager for our client in Chicago, Illinois. This role oversees food service and catering operations, focusing on operational excellence, service quality, and innovation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate food service, financial skills, and a passion for exceptional customer experiences emphasizing user experience, efficiency, and hospitality.

This location offers breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday and catering services five days a week, including evening events. The role requires quarterly overnight travel to Detroit.

What You'll Do
  • Oversee and innovate café, catering, and food delivery services
  • Manage Sodexo systems, financial outcomes, and client satisfaction
  • Innovate retail offerings, marketing strategies, and sustainable catering practices
  • Develop and maintain high-level client and customer relationships

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on maintaining positive client relations; perceptive leadership with attention to detail in food quality, presentation, and customer service
  • Financial acumen with experience managing budgets
  • Service-oriented mindset, providing excellent customer service in a welcoming dining environment
  • Experience in Food and Beverage or catering, including executive dining, with a deep understanding of catering delivery technicalities
