Job summary

Produce Careers Inc. seeks a General Manager in Florida to oversee all operations, logistics, procurement and sales activities.

You will drive strategic growth, manage full P&L with support from the Corporate Office, and lead a team across multiple departments. The role requires extensive experience in produce leadership, strong customer/vendor relationships in Florida and the Southeast, and a proven track record in fast-paced distribution environments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience in produce leadership roles including operations, procurement, logistics and/or sales.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Must have customer and vendor relationships in the fresh produce industry in Florida and Southeast region.
• Provide prompt, courteous and excellent service to all customers, internal and external.
• A well-organized and self-directed individual with the ability to relate to people at all levels of the organization.
• Must be able to work in a fast paced and rapidly growing distribution environment.
• Self-motivated and highly driven focusing on success.
• Strong personnel and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to Operations/Logistics Manager, Procurement Manager, Office Manager.
• Full P&L responsibilities with strong support from Corporate Office.
• Responsible for motivation, evaluation, guidance and employee relation.
• Schedule programs for equipment and facility maintenance, and food safety in conjunction with Corporate Office.
• Control storage, inventory and purchasing of essential warehouse supplies.
• Be familiar with all fresh fruits and vegetables distributed, including pack styles, processed items, origin, pricing, etc.
• Work with Corporate Sales to target new business with independent retailers, foodservice and wholesale customers in Florida.
• Maintain and grow current accounts as the point of contact for customers.
• Stay current with produce industry regulations and trends.

A well-established produce distributor is searching for a General Manager to join their team in Florida. This position will oversee all operations and business development efforts

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Provide leadership & direction to Operations/Logistics Manager, Procurement Manager, Office Manager.
• Full P&L responsibilities with strong support from Corporate Office
• Responsible for motivation, evaluation, guidance and employee relation
• Responsible for scheduling programs (in conjunction with Corporate Office) for: equipment maintenance, facility maintenance, food safety programs
• Control storage, inventory and purchasing of essential warehouse supplies
• Be familiar with all fresh fruits and vegetables that the company distributes, including pack styles, processed items, availability, origin, pricing etc.
• Business Development: work in tandem with Corporate Sales team and Procurement Manager to target new business with independent retailers, foodservice and wholesale customers in the state of Florida
• Maintain and grow current accounts as the point of contact to those customers
• Stay current and up to date with the produce industry (new products, new regulations, anything that may affect the business)

Compensation: 125-150K, Bonus, Medical Benefits
