Henry North is recruiting a General Manager for a growing warehouse and material handling installation company serving customers nationwide. A field-facing leader will own and grow a portfolio of specialty business units while promoting from within.

The ideal candidate is a people-first operations leader who has led traveling field crews in a construction-related environment, is independent, customer-facing, and a coach who drives real process improvement. Material handling experience is a plus.

Henry North is recruiting a General Manager for a growing warehouse and material handling installation company serving customers nationwide. With a large, field-based installation workforce and a culture of promoting from within, the company is seeking a field-facing leader to own and grow a portfolio of specialty business units.

The ideal candidate is a people-first operations leader who has led traveling or mobilized field crews in a construction-related environment. This person is independent, comfortable with customers, and a natural coach who motivates crews and drives real process improvement. Material handling experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple business units with directors and managers reporting in, owning growth, profitability, and staffing decisions
• Spend meaningful time in the field with crews and customers, building relationships and handling employee issues on traveling teams
• Grow revenue in a core installation division and partner with sales to quote jobs accurately
• Build and retain field crews, reduce turnover, and decide when to add capacity
• Scale labor for a fast-growing technology infrastructure installation business and coach its leader on operations
• Redeploy crews across company projects to keep teams productive during schedule gaps
• Strengthen inventory controls, yard processes, and sales strategy for an equipment sales unit
• Travel approximately 40–50% early on to visit crews and customers

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading field labor, including motivating traveling or mobilized crews and relating to the field
• Operations leadership in a construction-related environment, such as material handling installation, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or general contracting
• Strong process knowledge with a track record of driving measurable improvement
• Ability to work independently and confidently with customers
• A coaching mindset and genuine interest in developing people
• Data center or technology infrastructure installation experience is a plus
• Inventory or yard management experience is a plus

Compensation

• Base Salary: $180,000–$220,000, commensurate with experience
• Annual bonus tied to division performance
