Job summary

The Local is seeking a General Manager to lead front-of-house operations, elevate hospitality, and drive memorable guest experiences.

You will develop a strong team, mentor managers and hourly staff, oversee hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance, and partner with culinary leadership to maintain quality. This hands-on leader focuses on ownership and accountability in a welcoming neighborhood atmosphere.

You will engage with community partners and private events to grow the brand.

We are seeking a General Manager who is passionate about hospitality, team development, and operational excellence. This leader will oversee all aspects of FOH restaurant operations, building a strong team culture, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and driving financial performance while maintaining the neighborhood atmosphere that makes The Local special. The ideal candidate is an experienced, hands‑on hospitality leader who takes ownership of the business, leads by example, and understands how to balance exceptional service, team development, and financial success. This individual will play a key role in establishing The Local as a favorite neighborhood gathering place and building lasting connections within the community.

What You'll Do

Hospitality & Guest Experience

• Create and maintain a welcoming, energetic, and community-focused atmosphere where guests feel at home.
• Set the standard for exceptional hospitality, consistent service, and memorable guest experiences.
• Build meaningful relationships with regular patrons, community partners, and new guests.

Team Leadership & Culture

• Lead, inspire, and develop the restaurant's management team and hourly staff.
• Foster a positive, hospitality-driven culture built on accountability, communication, teamwork, and mutual respect.
• Develop future leaders through coaching, mentorship, and professional growth opportunities.
• Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management across restaurant operations.

Operations & Financial Performance

• Manage daily restaurant operations, including revenue, labor costs, beverage costs, inventory, and controllable expenses.
• Develop and execute strategies to drive sales, increase profitability, and enhance guest satisfaction.
• Partner with culinary leadership to maintain exceptional food quality, consistency, and presentation.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, organization, and overall restaurant appearance.

Community & Brand Experience

• Lead operational planning and execution for private events, catering, and gamedays.
• Serve as a visible ambassador for The Local, building relationships with guests, neighborhood businesses, and community organizations.
• Collaborate with leadership on marketing opportunities, special events, promotions, and experiences that drive traffic and build the brand.
• Champion The Local's commitment to genuine hospitality, quality ingredients, and community involvement.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications

• Previous General Manager or senior restaurant leadership experience in a full-service restaurant, or other high-volume dining or hospitality environment highly preferred.
• Passion for hospitality, relationship-building, and creating memorable guest experiences.
• Strong leadership skills with demonstrated success in hiring, developing, and retaining high-performing teams.
• Experience managing budgets, P&L performance, labor costs, inventory, and operational expenses.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead confidently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive, team-focused culture.
• Experience with private events, catering, and high-volume service preferred.
• Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and event-based operations.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout shifts.
• Frequent bending, lifting, reaching, and carrying up to 30 pounds.
