Logistics Operation Manager

A Logistics Operation Manager oversees all aspects of a distribution facility's operations, coordinating shipping and receiving, ensuring quality, managing staff, and optimizing processes to achieve efficiency and meet production goals.

What you will do on a typical day
Planning and Scheduling
  • Develop and implement production schedules and plans to meet customer demand and deadlines.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust plans as needed to ensure timely completion.
  • Manage inventory levels to minimize costs and ensure timely availability of materials.
Quality Control
  • Ensure that products meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Implement and maintain quality control systems and procedures.
  • Investigate and resolve quality issues promptly.
Staff Management
  • Lead and motivate a team of warehouse forklift operators, material handlers, and supervisors.
  • Hire, train, and evaluate employees.
  • Address employee issues and concerns.
  • Administer disciplinary actions and set corrective behavior goals.
Process Improvement
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies and equipment.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
Safety and Compliance
  • Ensure that all safety regulations and procedures are followed.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
