Job summary

KidStrong Reno is seeking a dedicated General Manager to oversee center operations, lead a team of coaches, and drive business success. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in athletics or coaching, with experience working with children aged 15 months to 11 years.

This role involves managing daily operations, leading sales initiatives, and fostering a positive environment for coaches and families. Compensation ranges from $40,000 to $50,000 per year with various benefits including health insurance and paid time off.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with kids ages 15 months to 11 years.
  • Prior experience as a pediatric OT/PT is a plus.
  • Basic proficiency with Google platforms and CRM tools.

About the Role

General Managers are the heartbeat of our centers, inspiring and driving success. As first in command, you’ll cultivate a culture of growth, development, and excellence—empowering coaches and families. A strong GM delivers key business results with high sales and low member attrition.

Responsibilities

Center Operations

  • Understand the center’s KPIs and financials to make informed decisions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with families to align with core values and provide exceptional service.
  • Oversee center-level initiatives such as maintenance, training, and brand consistency.
  • Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning and maintenance of the center.
  • Manage the weekly coaching schedule and ensure shifts are covered daily.
  • Schedule and sell KidStrong events such as camps and parties to maximize profitability.
  • Support the center’s social media presence with on‑brand organic posts, stories, and reels; respond promptly to inquiries.

Sales

  • Lead call drives to new and existing leads in the center’s CRM tool.
  • Finalize sales and bookings generated through the online self‑sign‑up flow.
  • Source and attend local events to increase brand awareness and drive incremental leads and memberships.

Leadership

  • Foster a coaching culture—if you see something, say something.
  • Oversee the center’s Assistant General Manager and coaching team of 6–10 part‑time coaches.
  • Continuously assess and evaluate coaches based on the KidStrong Coach DNA profile and class quality.
  • Recruit, screen, interview, onboard, manage, train, and coach candidates as needed.
  • Manage and support staff professional development through LearnUpon.
  • Lead monthly staff meetings focused on development, productivity, programming, and product.
  • Communicate professionally via Slack and email.
  • Attend weekly leadership meetings.

Coaching

  • Coach students with an evolving curriculum focused on brain, physical, and character development.
  • Understand and clearly communicate the purpose of the KidStrong curriculum.
  • Demonstrate and manage the implementation of programming and curriculum elements.
  • Work in a physically intensive environment; may cover multiple miles, lift equipment up to 25 pounds.
  • Ensure student safety and proper technique.
  • Work approximately 5–10 coaching hours per week.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Background in athletics and/or coaching with experience working with kids ages 15 months to 11 years.
  • Comfortable speaking to parents/guardians on various topics.
  • Prior experience as a pediatric OT/PT is a plus, but not required.
  • Previous management experience is required.
  • Basic proficiency with Google platforms (Gmail, Calendar, Sheets, Docs) and CRM tools such as HubSpot, Podium, and KidStrong systems.
  • Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise techniques, and body mechanics.
