Job summary

Top Quality Recruitment (TQR) seeks a General Manager for a feed mill to lead production scheduling, inventory control, quality testing, and safety training, driving profitability and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of managerial experience and a background in poultry/animal science or nutrition with a BA/BS plus related studies. You will guide staff, manage budgets, and pursue continuous process improvements.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in a managerial role.
• Extensive schooling or training in poultry/animal science and nutrition.
• BA/BS in business or related field with additional studies in Animal Nutrition/Science/Agriculture.

Responsibilities

• Schedule feed production and oversee operations.
• Manage inventory and ordering of feed ingredients.
• Test and review feed/grain quality for compliance.
• Schedule employee shifts and track time.
• Handle customer questions and complaints with professionalism.
• Evaluate procedures, set QA standards, and monitor budgets (monthly/quarterly/yearly).
• Stay up to date on technology and implement process improvements; train new staff.
• Ensure safety training and maintain equipment and facilities.

Job description

The General Manager is responsible for the overall performance and profitability of the Feed mill. They keep inventory of feed ingredients, order as needed, and handle customer questions and complaints. Additionally, they ensure all employees are trained on safety and continue to stay up-to-date.

Key Activities

• Schedule feed production.
• Keeping inventory of feed ingredients and ordering as needed.
• Testing and reviewing feed/grain quality.
• Scheduling employee shifts and keeping track of employee time.
• Handling customer questions and complaints.
• Evaluating operating procedures, setting quality assurance standards, preparing and monitoring monthly, quarterly, and yearly budgets.
• Staying up to date on new technology and ways to make process improvements, training new employees, and providing development opportunities.
• Ensuring all employees are trained on safety and continuing to stay up-to-date and maintaining filing equipment and other equipment needed to perform duties.
• Perform other assignments and duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills

• Superb customer relations skills.

Educations & Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in a managerial position
• Extensive schooling or training in the area of poultry/animal science and nutrition
• B.A. or B.S. in the area of business or a similar field with additional studies in the field of Animal Nutrition/Science/ Agriculture.
