Job summary

Constellation Culinary Group in New York, NY seeks a motivated food service director to lead a talented dining team and oversee all aspects of a professional operation. The role reports to the Commissary-supported unit and runs Monday–Friday.

You will hire and train staff, ensure culinary, safety, and sanitation standards, and manage budgeting and purchasing to meet targets. This position emphasizes client and customer satisfaction in a diverse environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of leadership in food service operations.

The Role at a glance:

We are looking to add a motivated, effective food service director to our Constellation Culinary Group team in NMew York, NY. As a food service director, you will have the opportunity to lead a talented team of food service workers and manage all aspects of a professional dining food service operation. This unit is supported by a Commissary. This is a Monday-Friday opportunity.

What you'll be doing:

• Managing all functions of the food service department and its resources.
• Manage and lead a team of associates, including hiring and training new employees.
• Ensuring that staff meet all culinary, safety, and sanitation standards and regulations.
• Budgeting for the department, including directly purchasing ingredients and ensuring the account meets all targets and forecasts.
• Conferring with the district manager or other departments regarding the technical and administrative aspects of dining service.

What we're looking for:

Must-haves:

• At least sixyears of experience managing food service operations on a leadership level.
• Previous experience with industrial cooking.
• Excellent communication skills and experience communicating with both hourly staff and company executives.
• The ability to manage in a diverse environment with a strong focus on client and customer services and satisfaction.
• Experience with and knowledge of all Microsoft Office suite applications.
