Job summary

Hyatt Place Nashville/Opryland is seeking a dynamic General Manager to lead a newly branded, renovated property and shape its identity in the Nashville/Opryland market. You will build a strong team, drive guest experience, and establish the hotel as a standout in the region.

The GM will own financial performance, brand standards, and talent leadership across all departments, with an emphasis on community engagement and revenue growth. This role requires hands-on leadership and strategic vision.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of progressive hotel leadership, with GM/OPS experience preferred.
  • Hyatt or comparable branded hotel experience preferred.
  • Experience leading a renovated or newly branded hotel is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of operations, sales, revenue, and talent leadership.
  • Proven ability to build teams and drive measurable results.
  • Strong communication, decision-making, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency with hotel tech, financial reports, and standard apps.
  • Valid driver's license as required.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities from renovated product and branding.
  • Own overall financial performance including revenue, profitability, and expenses.
  • Develop budgets, forecasts, and business plans with corporate.
  • Analyze performance and market trends and act on results.
  • Hold leaders accountable for productivity and costs.
  • Ensure timely financial reporting and controls.
  • Ensure recruiting, onboarding, training, and performance management.
  • Interview and select leadership talent with oversight of hiring.

The newly branded Hyatt Select Nashville Opryland is entering an exciting new chapter following a full renovation and brand transformation. We are looking for a dynamic, hands‑on General Manager who is ready to bring the hotel to life, build a strong team and culture, and establish the property as a standout hotel in the Nashville Opryland market.

The General Manager will have full responsibility for the hotel’s performance, including team leadership, guest experience, commercial strategy, financial results, and operational excellence. This leader will be highly visible throughout the hotel and the local community, with a strong focus on driving revenue, developing talent, and creating an experience that reflects both Hyatt standards and the energy of Nashville.

Hotel Operations & Guest Experience
  • Lead all aspects of hotel operations with a relentless focus on service, cleanliness, quality, and consistency.
  • Ensure the newly renovated hotel is maintained to exceptional standards and delivers on the Hyatt guest experience.
  • Tour the hotel and operating departments regularly, identifying opportunities and ensuring timely follow‑through.
  • Partner with department leaders to maintain strong operational standards, preventive maintenance programs, and property condition.
  • Ensure compliance with Hyatt brand standards, Avion Hospitality standards, and all applicable safety and regulatory requirements.
Sales, Revenue & Market Presence
  • Serve as an active commercial leader and ambassador for the hotel within the Nashville and Opryland community.
  • Partner closely with Sales and Revenue Management to develop strategies that drive occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, market share, and total hotel revenue.
  • Build relationships with key accounts, clients, community partners, and demand generators.
  • Participate personally in sales efforts, including key account calls, client meetings, site tours, receptions, and relationship‑building activities.
  • Identify new opportunities to capitalize on the hotel’s renovated product, new brand positioning, and location within one of Nashville’s most active hospitality markets.
Financial & Business Performance
  • Own the hotel’s overall financial performance, including revenue generation, profitability, labor management, expense control, and flow‑through.
  • Develop annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and business plans in partnership with corporate leadership.
  • Analyze performance and market trends and take decisive action when results are not meeting expectations.
  • Hold department leaders accountable for productivity, expense management, and financial performance.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of financial reporting, accounts payable, and corporate accounting requirements.
Talent Development & Compliance
  • Ensure strong recruiting, onboarding, training, and performance management practices throughout the hotel.
  • Interview and select key leadership talent and maintain appropriate oversight of hotel hiring decisions.
  • Ensure managers consistently provide coaching, recognition, accountability, and performance feedback.
  • Maintain compliance with Avion Hospitality policies, Hyatt requirements, employment practices, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Create a workplace where high performers can grow and build careers in hospitality.
Education & Experience
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive hotel leadership experience, with previous General Manager, Assistant General Manager, or senior hotel operations experience strongly preferred.
  • Hyatt or comparable branded hotel experience preferred.
  • Experience leading a renovated, repositioned, newly opened, or newly branded hotel is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of hotel operations, sales, revenue management, financial performance, and talent leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong teams and drive measurable business results.
  • Strong communication, decision‑making, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Proficiency with hotel technology, financial reporting tools, spreadsheets, and standard business applications.
  • Valid driver's license as required by the position.
