Job description

Compensation: $95,000 to $100,000 base + bonus up to 40% + profit share

Type: Full time, permanent

We are building IBRAN USA. We want someone to run it.

IBRAN designs, manufactures and sells its own products: recycled plastic ground reinforcement, drainage and construction products. We manufacture in the UK and sell internationally.

We are now establishing our US operation.

The first stage is deliberately simple: a US company, stock in a Knoxville warehouse, and a serious attempt at the market.

Product will initially ship from our UK factory. We already have organic US demand and strong US search rankings, and customers find us without us spending a dollar to acquire them. We have never gone after this market properly.

That's the job.

This is not a warehouse manager role

You will own IBRAN USA and its P&L. You'll decide how we sell, where, to whom, and how we scale it.

In practice that means:

Revenue: ecommerce, Amazon and marketplaces, wholesale, B2B and trade

Operations: inventory, warehousing, fulfilment, freight from the UK

Distribution and partnerships: building the US route to market

Team: recruiting and running a small US team as revenue supports it

There is no fat American expansion strategy waiting in a drawer. You're going to help write it. If you think we're pricing something wrong, or selling through the wrong channel, or sitting in the wrong warehouse, make the case and we'll listen.

Why Knoxville, and where this goes

Knoxville isn't an accident. It sits where Interstate 40 meets Interstate 75, within a day's drive of a large share of the US population, and roughly six hours from the Atlantic ports our containers will arrive through.

It is also somewhere we can put machines.

The US business will start supplied from the UK. That isn't where we intend to finish. As volume grows we expect to install injection moulding capacity locally and build a US manufacturing operation. If the business gets there, you could be running that too.

That's why we're hiring a General Manager rather than a sales manager.

GM first. MD if you build it.

The initial appointment is General Manager. We want to work with you before we hand over the keys.

The move to Managing Director, IBRAN USA is triggered by structural milestones in the business, not by time served:

The US operation reaching a sustained, profitable P&L

A functioning US warehouse and fulfilment operation running independently

A US team established under you

Hit those and the role becomes MD, with a substantially enhanced package.

Build the thing. Earn the keys.

Who we're looking for

Someone commercially minded, entrepreneurial and very good at getting things done.

You might currently be a General Manager, Country Manager, Commercial Director, Head of Ecommerce, Marketplace Director, Sales Director, or a founder. The title matters less than whether you've actually built something.

We'd particularly like to hear from people with experience in physical products, ecommerce, marketplaces, distribution, manufacturing or logistics.

You need to be commercially numerate, comfortable owning a P&L, and able to operate without someone directing you every five minutes. This is a small team to begin with. If something needs doing, you may well be the person doing it.

What you'll have

An established UK manufacturing operation behind you

A proven product range with existing US demand

Strong US organic search performance

Initial inventory and a Knoxville warehouse

Funded budget to build the operation

Direct access to MonoVerde Group leadership, with no committees

You are not starting with a blank spreadsheet. There is already a business here. Your job is to make it work in America.

Compensation

Base salary: $95,000 to $100,000, depending on experience

Performance bonus: up to 40% of base, paid against agreed quarterly milestones and US P&L performance

Profit share: a cash share of IBRAN USA's profits once the business is trading profitably. A cash bonus, not equity

Health insurance, PTO and standard US benefits

The MD role carries a substantially enhanced package

This will suit you if

You read this and think: "Give me the warehouse, the products and the budget. I'll figure the rest out."

It won't suit you if you want a structured corporate environment where the decisions have already been made. We're building something. There will be uncertainty and there will be problems. There is also a very large opportunity for whoever solves them.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Some international travel to our UK operation will be required.

IBRAN is an equal opportunity employer. We consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
