Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a General Manager to lead and inspire a team to deliver high quality, person-centred care for residents in a safe, supportive environment.

You will ensure regulatory requirements are met, recruit and develop staff, and drive performance against budget and quality targets while maintaining compassionate, resident-focused care.

This is a values-driven role within a growing network of homes, offering meaningful leadership that recognises excellence and dedication.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of four years' experience in a similar care environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and IT competence.
  • Adaptable and able to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

About the Role

Your focus as General Manager will be to lead and inspire a team to deliver excellent person-centred quality care to residents in a safe, caring, and stimulating environment, whilst meeting regulatory requirements, professional and statutory standards, and business performance targets.

Other Responsibilities
  • Ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality care, person-centred care and ensuring residents receive care based on best practice.
  • Being responsible for the ongoing recruitment, retention, and development of staff within the Home.
  • Acting as a focal point for contact with residents, their relatives, and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in residents' wellbeing.
  • Ensuring safe staffing levels are reviewed and maintained in accordance with both occupancy and dependency.
  • Providing on-going inspirational leadership and management to the staff team.
  • Ensuring costs are well managed and maintained within budgetary controls, by reviewing regularly and monitoring stock.
About You

  • Have a minimum of four years of experience in a similar care environment.
  • Have Leadership and Management Level 5 or equivalent.
  • Possess excellent leadership and management skills.
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and be competent in IT.
  • Be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
