Job description

We are conducting a search for a General Manager to lead an established, profitable industrial services business in the Indianapolis area.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who wants to run a business, not simply manage a department. The General Manager will have broad responsibility for day-to-day operations, people, customer relationships and financial performance while helping the company continue to strengthen its processes and position itself for future growth.

The right person will be equally comfortable walking the floor, working with customers, reviewing financial performance and making the everyday decisions required to keep a small business operating effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations, including production, scheduling, labor utilization, quality, safety and on-time delivery.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflow, productivity, margins and overall operating performance.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
• Develop a strong understanding of estimating and pricing and ensure work is performed profitably.
• Own budgeting, forecasting and key financial and operating metrics.
• Develop practical KPIs and a consistent operating rhythm for the business.
• Coach and develop employees while creating clear accountability throughout the organization.
• Build repeatable processes and reduce dependence on individual knowledge.
• Evaluate equipment, capacity and other investments based on business needs and ROI.
• Work closely with ownership while progressively assuming responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the company.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in someone who has led a hands-on light manufacturing, industrial services or similar operating environment and understands how operational decisions translate into financial results.

Compensation: Competitive base salary plus annual performance incentive and potential long-term incentive opportunity.

Location: Indianapolis area. This is an on-site leadership position.
