Job description

CBX Solutions is looking for a General Manager who leads with both strategic vision and operational precision, someone who builds trust with clients and teams through expertise, accountability, and a genuine commitment to excellence. In this role, you will own the full business performance of your branch: directing day-to-day operations, driving revenue growth, developing your leadership team, and ensuring every project is delivered with quality and integrity.

The ideal GM at CBX combines big-picture strategic thinking with the analytical rigor to understand what drives branch profitability, the systems fluency to keep operations running smoothly, and the social intelligence to inspire a high-performing team. If you are energized by solving complex operational challenges, building client relationships that last, and developing the people around you, this role is built for you.

Essential Functions
Branch Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop Operations Managers, sales professionals, and supervisors with a people-first approach that drives both performance and retention
  • Conduct structured coaching and mentoring sessions that identify strengths, close gaps, and build a motivating, accountable work environment
  • Own all personnel management functions in partnership with Human Resources, including performance management, corrective action, and succession planning
  • Facilitate all-hands meetings, leadership forums, and cross-functional communication to keep the team aligned and informed
  • Model CBX's SERVE values: Serve, Educate and Elevate, Respect, Vision, Expertise; in every interaction
Client & Partner Relationships
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key clients, GC partners, and industry professionals who interact with the branch
  • Cultivate supplier partnerships that strengthen the branch's operational capabilities and competitive positioning
  • Champion exceptional customer relations across all touchpoints, internal and external, and hold the team to that same standard
  • Support sales on bid proposals and serve as final signatory on all GC contracts
Financial Performance & Operations
  • Manage all facets of branch P&L, including revenue targets, labor costs, department expenses, and margins
  • Accountable for branch EBITDA, working capital performance, accounts receivable collections, backlog quality, and overall financial health of the business
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes for the branch
  • Drive operational execution that protects gross margin, improves productivity, and delivers projects on time and on budget
  • Review and act on recurring reports: sales performance, production output, labor costs, inventory levels, and delivery status
  • Establish cost controls and drive a culture of operational efficiency without sacrificing quality or customer commitments
  • Ensure on-time project delivery and completion; oversee bid review and final approval on contracts
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure availability aligns with project and service demands
Sales Strategy & Growth
  • Drive branch sales activity and ensure all Sales team members meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual targets
  • Partner with Marketing on campaign development and performance review; identify opportunities to grow market presence
  • Manage and track Proof-of-Concept projects from inception through results analysis
  • Delegate authority and responsibility with clear expectations, accountability structures, and consistent follow-up
Minimum Qualifications
  • Proven track record of P&L ownership and financial performance management in a branch or multi-site environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); comfort with branch management and CRM platforms
  • Strong systems and process orientation — builds structure that makes the team more effective, not bureaucratic
  • Knowledge of change management principles and the ability to bring a team through transitions without losing momentum or morale
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Exceptional analytical thinking, uses data to diagnose problems, identify root causes, and make confident, well-reasoned decisions
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication, equally effective presenting a strategy to leadership, coaching a struggling employee, or building rapport with a client
  • High relationship intelligence, reads people well, adapts communication style, and builds lasting trust across all levels
  • Strong attention to detail paired with the strategic perspective to know when precision matters most
