Job description

DFW Movers & Erectors is looking for a General Manager for one of our Dallas - Fort Worth locations. If you’re ready to lead with purpose, build a high-performing team, and help move the things that make your world, we’d love to hear from you.

As General Manager, you will provide the leadership and direction that keeps our location running at its best — driving sales, managing operations, and building the kind of team that customers and coworkers can count on. Your day‑to‑day work will center on setting goals, managing schedules, controlling costs, and making sure every job is executed safely and profitably. You'll work closely with our field crews, sales personnel, and company officers to ensure our location grows, our people thrive, and our standards stay high. You'll also roll up your sleeves when needed — because that's the kind of leader we're looking for.

This role is more than just running the numbers — it's about building trust with customers and your team, holding people accountable, and setting the tone for how we show up every day. If you have experience in rigging, industrial machinery, or heavy construction operations — and especially if you've led teams in a fast‑moving, hands‑on environment — you'll find this a deeply rewarding opportunity. Strong communication skills, mechanical know-how, and a genuine desire to build something great are essential to success here.

Position Responsibilities
  • Participate in formulating and administering company policies; direct and coordinate all location sales and operations to develop and implement long-range goals and objectives
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and management that mirrors the mission and core values of DFW Movers & Erectors — bottom line: build an effective and highly reputable company
  • Drive location performance to achieve and surpass sales, safety, training, profitability, and business objectives; evaluate performance through data, metrics, and regular staff meetings
  • Control costs and hours; manage job schedules and personnel assignments
  • Train field personnel in appropriate rigging methods based on specific job parameters
  • Oversee maintenance and repairs of location equipment and facility
  • Accurately forecast annual, quarterly, and monthly revenue, expenses, and net profit
  • Review and report on activities, costs, and operations to track progress toward goals
  • Collaborate with the COO and other company officers on all matters of importance, policy, and strategic direction
  • Develop, review, and implement business strategic planning across sales, operations, and financial performance
  • Motivate and lead a high-performance team; recruit, retain, and mentor team members; build and sustain trust at every level
  • Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the location
  • Manage sales to maximize revenues and meet corporate objectives
  • Establish effective programs to compensate, coach, appraise, and train sales and operations personnel
Critical Competencies
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to hold a team accountable while earning their trust
  • Analytical mindset — comfortable with numbers, forecasting, and performance data
  • Self-starter who can function independently and drive results without close oversight
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Mechanically inclined; knows trucks, trailers, forklifts, and gantries
  • Skilled in organizational development, personnel management, budget management, and strategic planning
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work the hours required to get the job done
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at every level — from field crew to executive
  • Proficient in project management and MS Office
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, construction, or a related field (MBA preferred); or 8+ years of experience in rigging or industrial machinery — or an equivalent combination of both
  • At least eight years of strong rigging operational experience preferred
  • At least five years in a management role with a solid, consistent track record of performance
  • Large contract or construction experience preferred
  • Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to corporate mission
  • Desire to build a legacy; strong drive to succeed and continue location success
  • Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment while driving toward clarity and solutions
  • Military background a strong plus
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must be able to visit and navigate job sites and facilities as needed
