Job summary

ITP (International Talent Partnership) is supporting an established aerospace manufacturing business in appointing a General Manager – Aerospace Manufacturing. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving operational performance and continuous improvement across a major metal manufacturing operation in Connecticut.

You will lead the leadership team, challenge existing practices, and deliver measurable improvements while overseeing a second forging facility with monthly visits.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in aerospace or complex manufacturing.
• Proven results in productivity, quality, delivery, capacity or cost improvement.
• Strong Lean, Continuous Improvement and change management experience.

Responsibilities

• Improve throughput, productivity, capacity utilisation and on-time delivery.
• Lead Continuous Improvement and Lean initiatives to reduce waste, scrap, rework and operating costs.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement sustainable improvements using KPIs and structured problem solving.
• Develop the leadership team, strengthen accountability and drive cultural change.
• Work cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain.
• Oversee a second forging facility, with visits expected once or twice per month.

I’m currently supporting an established aerospace manufacturing business with the appointment of a General Manager – Aerospace Manufacturing.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manufacturing leader with a strong metal manufacturing background to take ownership of operational performance, lead Continuous Improvement and support significant business growth.

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will lead a major aerospace metal manufacturing operation, with additional oversight of a second facility.

The business has significant potential to increase output and needs a hands‑on leader who can challenge existing practices, strengthen accountability and deliver measurable improvements across the operation.

Key responsibilities
