Job summary

As the GM, you will drive budgets, revenue targets, staff development, and ensure service standards while maintaining brand guidelines and a safe environment for guests and associates.

Qualifications

• Previous GM or AGM experience at a similar size hotel
• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or Business preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team and empower associates
• Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and profitability
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible schedule based on business demands

Essential Functions and Duties

• Manage budgets and financial plans, control expenditure, and maximize profitablility
• Maintain and analyze statistical and financial records
• Set and achieve revenue sales and profit targets
• Recruit, develop, train, and lead staff
• Plan work schedules for individuals and teams based on business operational needs
• Appropriately respond to and resolve guest concerns
• Address problems and troubleshoot
• Empower associates to take ownership of the guest experience
• Ensure events and conferences run smoothly
• Preserve hotel assets, including but not limited to supervising maintenance, supplies, renovations, and furnishings
• Maintain relationships with contractors, vendors, and suppliers
• Ensure a safe and secure environment for all guests and associates
• Maintain appropriate inspections of the property as identified by the organization and brand
• Ensure the property meets brand guidelines and expectations for service and all standards
• Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety, and other statutory regulations
• Perform various other duties as assigned to meet business objectives

Required Experience, Education, and Skills

• Previous experience as General Manager or Assistant General Manager at a similar size and type of hotel
• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or Business preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team
• Demonstrated ability to develop, empower, and motivate associates
• Excellent attention to detail
• Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and profitability
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task
• Flexible schedule based on business demands

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Walking and inspecting the property, including rooms, public space, back of house and building inspections
• Must be able to access and navigate all asreas of the hotel
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
