Job summary

FiveStar is seeking a General Maintenance Worker to perform facility maintenance across our corporate offices, FiveStar stores, and other managed properties. You will travel to sites in a company vehicle and report to the home office in Bardstown or the district office in Paducah.

The role includes painting, landscaping, plumbing, roofing, and other routine tasks, plus inspecting and repairing equipment, operating construction tools, and ensuring safety and compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License with a safe driving record.
• Have or willing to obtain a DOT medical card.
• Knowledge of tools, materials, and practices related to facility construction and maintenance.
• Able to understand instructions and communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
• Professional appearance and a positive attitude.
• Team player, honest, hardworking, and excellent attendance.
• Basic computer skills, including ability to use an iPad and work order software.

General Summary: The General Maintenance Worker completes tasks related to facility maintenance and construction of our corporate offices, our FiveStar stores, and other managed properties. This position reports to the home office (Bardstown) or district office (Paducah) daily and travels to properties, in a company vehicle, to complete tasks as assigned.

• Complete assigned tasks timely while under minimal supervision, including but not limited to painting, landscaping, plumbing, roofing, or other manual labor tasks of routine difficulty.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair machines and equipment.
• Operate light and heavy construction equipment.
• Operate power and manual tools.
• Complete tasks safely and efficiently with an understanding of occupational hazards.
• Follow all company policies, laws, ordinances, and regulations involved in equipment operation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Physical Requirements:

• This position typically works day shift Monday through Friday; but occasional nights, weekends, and holidays are required, including a rotating on-call schedule.
• Occasional overnight travel may be required.
• There may be prolonged periods of sitting in and/or driving a truck to job sites.
• May be subject to outside weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
• Must be able to operate all equipment associated with facility construction and maintenance.
• Must be able to perform heavy manual labor and effectively handle lifting objects up to 60lbs.
• Must be able to sit, stand, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and climb ladders on a regular basis.
• Must be comfortable working and operating equipment at various heights.
