Sylvania in Fredericksburg, Texas is seeking a General Maintenance Worker responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on building structures, mechanical, electrical, and sanitary systems. The role requires knowledge of construction and maintenance procedures, effective communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in building maintenance and a valid Texas driver's license. Physical tasks include lifting heavy objects and working in various environments.
Perform general maintenance and repair of building structures and their mechanical, electrical, and sanitary systems throughout district. Assist with maintenance of grounds.

Small hand tools, power tools, garden tools and measuring tools; light truck or van.
Strenuous walking, standing, and/or climbing, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension and overhead reaching. Heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over) on a daily basis.
Work outside and inside; exposure to hot and cold temperatures; exposure to dust, toxic chemicals (proper safety equipment must be worn according to label) and materials, noise, vibration, electrical hazards, slippery and uneven walking surfaces and work on ladder.
May work alone, regularly work irregular hours and occasional prolonged hours.

FISD pays $365.00 per month towards TRS Health Insurance.
