Job summary

Facility Services Management Inc. is seeking a dependable Maintenance Mechanic to perform general maintenance, repair, and preventive tasks on commercial buildings and facility systems.

The ideal candidate has practical experience in carpentry, plumbing, painting, masonry, and basic electrical work, with safety-minded, dependable approach to supporting mission-critical facilities. You will work on multiple shifts, complete work orders, inspect systems, and maintain records.

Qualifications

  • Two years of experience in building maintenance or related skilled trade.
  • Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, painting, masonry, and basic electrical repairs.
  • Ability to safely operate common maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a local background investigation.
  • Must obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI/LAC) security clearance after hire.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
  • All three shifts are available.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and repairs on buildings, equipment, and facility systems.
  • Replace belts and filters on air handling units and perform routine preventive maintenance.
  • Patch and repair drywall, plaster, ceilings, and interior wall surfaces.
  • Repair or replace sinks, toilets, water coolers, faucets, and other plumbing fixtures.
  • Paint interior and exterior surfaces, equipment, and facility structures as needed.
  • Repair concrete floors, sidewalks, curbs, stairs, and other masonry surfaces.
  • Inspect buildings and identify maintenance issues requiring corrective action.
  • Perform minor carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs.
  • Assist with equipment maintenance and repairs as assigned.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
  • Complete work orders accurately and maintain maintenance records in a timely manner.
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and environmental regulations.
  • Support other maintenance personnel and perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in building maintenance, facility maintenance, or a related skilled trade, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, painting, masonry, and basic electrical repairs.
  • Ability to safely operate common maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
  • Ability to successfully pass a local background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI/LAC) security clearance after hire.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative maintenance team.
