An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Electrical Maintenance Technician to ensure the smooth operation of its facilities. This role involves performing electrical maintenance tasks, conducting routine inspections, and providing emergency services during nights and weekends. Under general supervision, performs a variety of general maintenance duties with a focus on Electrical. Requires being on-call during rotating nights and weekends for emergency assistance related to maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment for the college. Performs other duties as required and reports to the Assistant Director of Facilities Services.
The essential functions outlined are representative of the tasks within this role. Omissions do not preclude management from assigning additional duties that are logical to the position.
Conducts routine/preventative maintenance on various systems, checking electrical utilities inside and outside of buildings for proper operation.
Maintains records, including operating a computer-based work order system and procurement card sales receipts.
Operates and/or utilizes equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, aerial platforms, generators, welders, gas torches, mechanic’s tools, electrical tools, campus vehicles, etc., after proper training. Must possess and maintain a valid N.C. driver’s license and complete CDL training within the first year of employment.
Provides on-call emergency service during rotating nights and weekends, including checking facilities for proper operation on weekends and holidays.
Performs general maintenance tasks such as removing fallen tree limbs, unloading trucks, assisting with carpentry and HVAC tasks, storm cleanup, storm notification or evacuation, and snow removal, especially during school closures due to weather.
