General Maintenance Technician
Reports to: Facilities Manager
Supervises: N/A
Essential Job Functions.
- Assist in the construction and maintenance of structures and furniture.
- Assist in the inspection, repair and maintenance of facility systems and equipment.
- Respond to various service requests throughout the facility.
- Oversee the dock waste accumulation area and schedule pickups as necessary.
Marginal Job Functions
- Assist other personnel as time and knowledge permit.
- Participate in training and meetings as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Must be able to work professionally as part of a team with other employees..
- Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable through the company's insurance.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
- Must be able to consistently bend, stand, stoop, climb, walk and lift up to 50 pounds over a 10 hour period.
- Must have a general knowledge of standard practices and procedures of construction trades such as plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting and mechanical systems, including materials and tools.
- Must be able to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime and respond to emergency situations after hours.
Education and Work Experience
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
