Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a facilities specialist to maintain HVAC and environmental control systems across our facilities. You will ensure climate control, respond to trouble calls, and perform preventative maintenance to support safe, reliable operations at scale.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance around the building including repairs.
  • Repair plumbing to prevent water damage and restore water fixtures.
  • Repair damaged electrical wiring as needed.
  • Maintain HVAC equipment to ensure climate control.
  • Manage and track service tickets with timely resolutions.
  • Support company events and assist with facility projects.
  • Install, repair, and maintain fixtures and furnishings.

As part of a hardworking team of facilities specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will play a critical role in the daily operations and maintenance of our state-of-the‑art HVAC and other environmental control systems. With nearly 2M square feet of buildings and 500 acres of property and associated utilities, you will not only be responsible for the HVAC and their associated controls, but also in responding to trouble calls where your skills may also apply. Responsibilities
  • Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door or wall repair
  • Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures
  • Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs
  • Maintaining the building HVAC equipment in order to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly
  • Manage and track service tickets, ensuring timely resolution and accurate reporting
  • Support company events and assist with small facility-related projects
  • Install, repair, and maintain fixtures, furnishings, equipment, and interior/exterior finishes
  • Identify and mitigate safety hazards to maintain compliance with workplace safety standards
  • Perform preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime and future repair needs
  • Assist with facility improvements such as painting, sealing, and minor construction tasks

  • Use various tools to include standard electronic hand tools, precision measuring instruments, shop equipment (drill press, grinder, saws, etc.), fabrication equipment (wire-wrap, crimp, and solder station), as necessary to accomplish assigned work.
  • Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms.
  • Tasks may involve repetitive motions of the arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision.

Work Environment & Schedule
  • Full-time position (40 hours/week)
  • Flexible scheduling required, including weekends
  • May involve extended shifts (up to 12 hours) based on operational needs
  • Schedule can change to support launches.
