Blue Origin is seeking a hands-on technician to support precision cleaning and inspection of aerospace hardware across spaceflight systems. Join a hardworking team and apply technical leadership to impact engine production and safety in human spaceflight missions.

You will work with CPV Lab equipment, passivation processes, and quality controls while adhering to safety standards and company culture emphasizing safety, collaboration, and inclusion.

Qualifications

  • Experience with fluid systems and applied chemistry fundamentals.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and operate lifting equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and ability to use software systems and MS Office.

  • Safely handle hardware with overhead cranes, hoists, and lifting equipment.
  • Analyze CPV Lab solvent/chemical systems using titration and direct measurements.

  • Package hardware for storage or shipment.
  • Perform shop-level maintenance and calibration of equipment.

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

Job Description

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will perform general duties involved in the precision cleaning and inspection of aerospace hardware for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of engine production. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Special Mentions

A Shift: Monday - Thursday (5:00AM - 3:30 PM) - (40 hrs./wk)

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Clean and passivate hardware using means such as solvent/chemical, mechanical, ultrasonic, and precision cleaning methods.
  • Safely handle hardware utilizing overhead cranes, hoists, and associated lifting equipment.
  • Use titration and other direct measurement methods to analyze and correct CPV Lab solvent/chemical systems.
  • Inspect hardware using visual, UV light, borescope, microscopic particle count, and high-precision weighing methods.
  • Package accepted hardware and supplies for storage or shipment.
  • Perform shop-level maintenance and calibration of equipment such as pumps, tanks, filtration systems, scales, etc.
  • Conduct general housekeeping of CPV Lab and Certified Clean Room area.
  • Follow safety regulations and wear protective eyewear, steel-toe boots, and other applicable personal protective equipment.
Minimum Qualifications

Experience working on fluid systems with applied chemistry fundamentals. Strong attention to detail, desire to solve problems, and drive to resolve technical issues. Ability to lift items to 40 lbs. and use lifting equipment and machinery for heavier hardware. Must possess initiative, a strong work ethic, and a proven ability to follow directions and meet expectations. Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to interface with software systems, databases, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in precision cleaning of aerospace, medical, or other precision components.
  • Prior experience inspecting aerospace mechanical components or fluid systems.

Base Pay Range for: WA applicants is $24.74 - $34.63
